This year, under the pine tree I recieved a GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition. Sadly, discontinued by GoPro for the Hero4 Silver, but I found one on Amazon and am so far very pleased with it. The pictures it takes are spot on and have that nice fish-eye look, which can be amplified or decreased. The videos were a bit frustrating in the beginning because on the GoPro app you can’t play back video that’s higher than 1080, you have to download it onto a computer, which shouldn’t be a problem for most. This GoPro app is very helpful by the way. A simple process of hooking up your GoPro and app through wifi then you’re good to go. With only a few seconds delay you can see what your GoPro is seeing with the preview, view (most) videos and photos you’ve taken, switch between modes, and navigate through the settings with ease, unlike the one button method on the GoPro.
Some drawbacks are, there is no mini SD card included, just holding the GoPro case to film causes lots of excess noise, and… Um well, there really isn’t much. For longboarding this is essential if you want to spice it up and get some new angles in your shots. Once you have a GoPro you need mounts to film and work with which can be a bummer, but recently I found a great deal on a bunch of mounts so if you look around a little you will find what you desire.
I hope your quest for a quality camera comes to a happy conclusion, I know I’m feelin’ good about what I got.
But more importantly,
